Gulf Coast Fundraisers Around the Web

It's been over two months since an explosion occurred on oil rig Deepwater Horizon, and still gushes of crude continue to leak into the Gulf of Mexico as a result. Times like these can make everyone feel a little–okay, a lot–helpless, but there's still so much that can be done to help the people, animals and overall livelihood of the entire Gulf Coast region. If you can volunteer, volunteer. If you can donate, please do. And if you're just in the market for something to pretty up your walls, why not pick a print, painting, or other good that donates the proceeds to the cleanup effort? It may seem like a drop in the bucket compared to other points of action, but with enough small efforts, true change can happen.

Art blog My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses as set up an online marketplace taking place now through July 5th with works donated from an array of artists. Buy a piece and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Gulf Restoration Network.

Poppytalk Handmade will open up an Oil Spill Response-themed market on July 5th, with a percentage of each sale going to Oxfam. Head over on Monday to see the selection of work available.

And finally, the mother of all crafty online marketplaces, Etsy, has rounded up a list of sellers who are currently donating a portion of their sales to the Gulf Coast relief efforts. Head here to find out what's available, including the shirt shown above.
